Jessica Bohannon PMHNP
My name is Jessica Bohannon, and I am a Board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I started my education right here in Greenville Texas at Paris Jr College and obtained both my licensed vocation nursing and my Register nursing license. Later, I went to the University of Texas Arlington for my bachelor’s in science and nursing. I completed my master’s Degree at Wilkes University at Wilke Barr Pennsylvania. I have 20 years of health care and nursing experience that I gained locally. I have worked at Hunt Regional Memorial Hospital providing care for mothers, infants, and children in the community. I added to my experience at Glen Oaks Hospital as an LVN, RN, and now a nurse practitioner caring for psychiatric patients. There was a shift in my professional and personal goals during the pandemic. The experience of being a nurse during COVID provided me with an awareness that mental health is delicate, under-treated, and important for a good quality of life. This awareness sparked a calling to shift my practice to a field where I can build relationships with my patients and have autonomy to be able to have a client centered approach to my practice. Personal: I have lived in Greenville area for over 25 years. I met my husband here, have been married for many years and we now have three sons. I believe I will always be a student; I love to learn about new research in my field. I also enjoy classes
to learn new skills. I travel as much as I can for exploration and experiencing. I also workout three to four times a week for both my mental health and to promote a healthier lifestyle.
